About the Project

A bus search application for providing bus information in Taiwan. Which let you, Find bus station or route information by search terms. Find the closest bus station near you by searching your location. Our goal is to provide the easiest and fastest way to get the bus information, with a clean UI / UX and reliable software system.

Project Details

The competition organized by the Taiwan HexSchool Academy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportation of Taiwan, uses the transportation API of the country's largest transportation data circulation service platform (TDX) to develop applications, and completes the application service of all-Taiwan bus dynamics in one week.

“We hope users can find the place they want to go or take a bus in the easiest and fastest way. And quickly browse the relevant information of the bus.”

Design Process

We not only want to make the specifications required by the competition, we want to do more.We hope that this website is not only for competitions, but also can be used in real life and become an official website.

User Research

Before the start of the project, we quickly interviewed some people to understand their needs when taking the bus, investigate their current most frequently used bus query websites, understand the convenience or inconveniences they find, and the advantages and disadvantages of the current bus query system , And features that you want to add or must keep. The following are some interesting phenomena we found from the questionnaire:

I can search the station order information of the designated bus route through the search interface on the website.
I can get the estimated arrival time of the next bus at my stop through the bus route information on the website. See the remarks for details.
I can browse through the PC website and the interface through Mobile

Note: For the estimated arrival time function, TDX API only provides dynamic information in Taoyuan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. In terms of the scope of review, you can only integrate the counties and cities provided to meet the threshold. If you want to integrate other counties and cities, such as Taipei and New Taipei, you need to ask the developer to find the integration.

We refer to the interfaces of different apps to observe how their point-to-point operations are formed and how the interface jumps.

💡Why do we start from the mobile version of the web?Since most people now use mobile devices more often, computer interfaces will extend the screen better than mobile devices, so in terms of functions and interfaces, mobile phones can better control the design of the interface.
